Formal Biography Kshitij is a Ph.D. in Robotics graduate student at Carnegie Mellon University (CMU) advised by Prof. Wennie Tabib. Through his Ph.D. dissertation, he is creating methods for robot path planning and mapping that adapt to environmental complexity. Through his M.S. thesis in Robotics at CMU, Kshitij developed a concept of operations for a future space mission that deploys a communication-efficient team of robots in Martian caves to search for origins of life on Mars. For this work, he was awarded the National Science Foundation (NSF) Ph.D. Student Travel Award to attend the 2021 ISER conference. Prior to joining CMU as a graduate student, he was awarded the FICCI fellowship to attend the Robotics Institute Summer Scholars (RISS) program at CMU. Kshitij holds B.Tech. (Honors) degree in Aerospace Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kharagpur. While at IIT Kharagpur, he was awarded the Boeing-IIT Kharagpur fellowship and his thesis on automatic control of an asymmetric fighter aircraft was nominated for the 2017 Best Undergraduate Thesis in Aerospace Engineering award.
